Los Angeles County CCW Training
Choosing a CCW training program is indeed a significant decision, one that goes far beyond merely fulfilling requirements to obtain a certificate. If you're in the process of selecting a program, ask yourself: Are you looking for actual training that equips you with practical, life-saving skills, or are you just looking for a quick class to check a box?
At Seven 4 Para, we recognize that CCW applicants often compare instructors and courses. While this is understandable, it's vital to note that not all CCW classes are created equal. We've witnessed this firsthand, particularly when individuals join us for a renewal course. Many permit holders realize they were never taught the critical skills necessary for carrying a firearm for self-defense.
Our approach emphasizes more than just meeting legal requirements—we focus on the real-world application of concealed carry. From situational awareness and proper concealment techniques to defensive shooting and interacting with law enforcement, our training is designed to prepare you for scenarios where your firearm may be your last line of defense.
Whether you're a first-time applicant or renewing your permit, investing in a program that prioritizes comprehensive training can make all the difference. Your safety—and the safety of those around you—depends on it.
For over 20 years, Seven 4 Para has been a trusted provider of concealed weapons training. Our Los Angeles County CCW course is a condensed version of our comprehensive 40-hour CCW program, taught by a full-time peace officer. It meets all county requirements for CCW application, offering 8-16 hours of instruction depending on prior training or whether the course is for renewal or initial certification.
Participants must complete all required training and pass all tests to receive a certificate. Missing any portion of the class will require rescheduling or retaking the course. The range qualification is conducted at a local range unless a private course is arranged. Each firearm will be inspected by a certified armorer before qualification, and unsafe firearms will not be permitted.
This course focuses on the legal, ethical, and moral responsibilities of carrying a concealed firearm. While it ensures compliance with the county's requirements, it assumes participants are already proficient in firearm use. For those new to carrying firearms in public, additional training is strongly recommended:
-
Semi-Auto 1: Build a solid foundation in marksmanship and gun handling.
-
CCW Prep or Marksmanship Clinic: Learn advanced techniques, including drawing from concealment, shooting on the move, and defensive tactics.
The Seven 4 Advantage:
-
Use of Force: Taught by a full-time police officer with extensive experience in real-world scenarios.
-
Mindset: Instructors with real-life military and law enforcement backgrounds share invaluable insights.
-
Weapon Manipulations & Marksmanship: Learn from seasoned professionals with expertise across multiple platforms.
-
Law Enforcement Contacts: Guidance from a full-time police officer on how to handle interactions with law enforcement.
-
Force-on-Force Training: Optional scenarios that simulate real-life CCW encounters.
-
MILO & SR Shooting Simulators: Cutting-edge technology for decision-making, use-of-force training, and situational awareness.
Carrying a firearm in public is a significant responsibility, and we take pride in preparing students to meet this challenge. Our class sizes are limited to 8 participants to ensure personalized instruction. Private courses or one-on-one training are available upon request for an additional fee.
